Juniper Oxycedrus L.
Cade is a species of Juniper grown in rocky areas across the Mediterranean. Also known as Juniper tar, cade oil has antiseptic, antimicrobial and antifungal properties and has been used since nineteenth century to soothe skin and scalp complaints like psoriasis, dandruff and eczema.
It is distilled from the young twigs and wood of more mature plants. It has unique aroma that is oily, leathery with black smoky odour. It is a grounding and calming oil.
Skin: It is used in soaps for eczema and itchy skin as well as ointments for a variety of skin problems like psoriasis.
Hair: Cade oil is known for its uses in hair care. It is known to be helpful for skin irritations, especially dandruff, bad skin, split ends and greasy hair and is commonly used in hair and scalp formulations. It is also known to help strength hair and minimize hair loss.
Blend: Mix 4 drops of cade oil, 4 drops of Rosemary, 4 drops of Thyme and 4 drops of Cedarwood oil with 20ml coconut oil and massage on the body for treating all kinds of skin problems, allergies, microbial infections and hair problems.
Product Color: Reddish brown
Caution: Avoid during pregnancy and with sensitive skin. It can cause possible sensitization in some individuals, so use in very low concentration only. It is important to note that all Essential Oils are extremely concentrated in nature and if to be applied on the skin or body, should always be diluted upto a maximum dosage of 3% in a suitable carrier oil.
