Lemongrass is a fast growing, tall, aromatic perennial grass that grows up to 1.5 metres in height. It is native to Asia, but is now cultivated mostly in the West Indies, Africa, and Tropical Asia.
Lemongrass essential oil is extracted from the grassy leaves of this grass through the steam distillation process.
Skin: Lemongrass essential oil aids in healing the wounds and curbs the growth of micro-organisms that worsen skin problems.

Body: Lemongrass oil helps in relieving pain, inflammation and rheumatism by eliminating the excess fluids and toxic substances through urine and sweat. The analgesic action of this oil helps in soothing pain, tired muscles, headache, joint pain and back pain.
Caution: Avoid during pregnancy and with sensitive skin. It can cause possible sensitization in some individuals, so use in very low concentration only. It is important to note that all Essential Oils are extremely concentrated in nature and if to be applied on the skin or body, should always be diluted upto a maximum dosage of 4% in a suitable carrier oil.
