Psoralea Corylifolia

Babchi oil belongs to Fabaceae family and is extracted using steam distillation of the seeds of the plant. It has a sweet balsamic aorma. It is used as a vasodilator, pigmentor and cardiac tonic in Ayurveda for above 4000 years and is used to treat a variety of ailments such as leprosy, leucoderma, vitiligo, stress and reproductive ailments.

It possesses a variety of properties like antitumor, anti inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antifungal and antibacterial properties. Due to its anti-microbial properties, it possesses an immense potential for the treatment of dermatological disorders.

Common Uses

Skin: Babchi Oil is helpful in treating a variety of skin problems like dermatitis, eczema, boils, skin eruptions, scabies, leucoderma, ringworm and vitiligo. It also enhances skin health and helps in getting natural colour to skin. It promotes blood circulation, production of melanin pigments and purifies blood. It also improves the colour of skin, hair and nails.

Respiratory Health: Steam inhalation of this oil helps to provide relief from bronchitis, nasal congestion, whooping cough, cold, sinusitis, headache, breathing problems and asthma. You can massage back, throat and chest to help improve respiratory system.

Treat Reproductive problems: The aphrodisiac properties of this oil supports reproductive health in both men and women. It acts as a tonic and enhances vitality. It also helps to treat impotence, incontinence, frigidity, premature ejaculation and lack of sexual interest. Massage lower back and lower abdomen with the mixture of 2 drops Babchi, 2 drops Cinnamon, 2 drops Ylang Ylang mixed with 3 ml jojoba oil to enhance mood, uplift senses, relax nerves and stimulate reproductive organs.

Caution: Avoid during pregnancy and with sensitive skin. It can cause possible sensitization in some individuals, so use in very low concentration only. It is important to note that all Essential Oils are extremely concentrated in nature and if to be applied on the skin or body, should always be diluted upto a maximum dosage of 4% in a suitable carrier oil.
