Botanical Name: Prunus Armeniaca
Extraction Method: Cold pressed from the oil-rich kernels of Apricots
Description: Apricot oil is a thin oil pressed from the seed or kernels of apricot. It is light and has a nutty, aromatic flavour. It has high levels of vitamin E, vitamin K, and a number of powerful antioxidants, such as caffeic acid and various catechins. It is non greasy enriching emollient and can be directly applied on skin.
Used for many centuries, Apricot Kernel Oil continues to be used in skin, hair, and health care for its softening, hydrating, rejuvenating, and nourishing properties. Due to the fact that Apricots belong to the same family of drupes as Almonds, it is comparable to Almond Oil and can be used as a substitute.
Moisturise Skin: The emollient properties of apricot kernel oil helps to exfoliate and moisturize skin, helping it retain moisture, eliminating patches of dry skin, and relieving inflammatory conditions, such as rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema. For nourished, soft and glowing skin, gently rub this oil on your body daily. It also helps in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. This oil is great for soothing dry skin as it deeply nourishes damaged, rough or chapped skin.
Improves Hair Health: It can also be used on hair and scalp to strengthen weak strands and promote healthy hair follicles. It also helps in getting rid of dandruff and can be directly applied on hair and scalp.
Treats Acne: Applying this oil on acne spots can reduce inflammation and prevent the buildup of sebum in the glands, treating both the symptoms and the underlying problem of acne.
Improves Digestion: The laxative properties of this oil facilitates expulsion of bodily toxins through metabolic waste. Create a massage blend to encourage proper digestion and bowel movements by mixing 10 drops of Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil with 2 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil and gently massage it into the belly.
Skin Type: Suited for skin types. Works great for aging or mature skin. Wonderful for sensitive skin as the Vitamin E is very calming.
Storage: It is recommended to store carrier oils in cool dark place to maintain their freshness and maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring them to room temperature before use.
